There is a critical need for affordable, quality home health care. The founders of Lily Martin Care saw this need and decided to apply their experience and knowledge to help. The inspiration to form a service that would do just that came from their personal family experiences.
Lily, or “Ma Lily”, as she was called, came to the U.S. as a young child not knowing any English, but quickly caught onto the language and culture. She raised her children in Yonkers, NY, and was passionate about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as much of her joy and happiness came from them. A brilliant businesswoman, she and her husband Simon travelled the world many times over, bringing the children her stories and experiences. But the erosion of her mind from dementia prompted her family to make the difficult decision to care for Lily at home, rather than place her in a facility with strangers.
Martin Francis Burke was a loving grandfather, father and husband. As one of 12 children, he held family as the most important part of life. Although he always sported a jovial grin, Martin was haunted by a genetic history of heart disease. Having had his first heart attack at age 33, he would continue living his life with zest through his love of being with family and friends until his third and final attack at the age of 61.
As difficult as it was to see Ma Lily succumb to dementia, the situation was compounded by the fact that she needed extra care, which proved to be extremely daunting. This is one of the reasons why we founded Lily Martin. Today we honor our beloved Ma Lily and Martin by helping to provide families in stressful situations with responsible home health care. They gave the best to all who were lucky enough to be in their presence, and we continue that pattern of love and care by paying it forward with our services.
Lily Martin Care makes it their daily mission to provide quality home health care services at affordable rates by placing the appropriate level care demanded by every unique situation.
Every situation in every home is unique. We understand that. That is why we keep an extensive list of health care providers so that we are able to give you choices for the level of health care your loved one needs.
When you need the training and experience necessary to care for your loved ones medical needs, a Registered Nurse is right fit for your situation.
Sometimes your situation calls for simply providing general assistance with your loved one. Things such as dressing, eating or personal hygiene can be taken care of with the help of an Aide.
If your loved one requires around-the-clock care, our Live-ins are available to help with many of your family's needs.
Navigating the myriad of choices available to you regarding home health care can be daunting. We can place you with a Social Worker who can assess your needs and make appropriate recommendations for care.
There may be times when you need to have your loved one travel. Whether it's one town over for an appointment, or across the country to visit family, we can provide a Travel Companion.
Especially in these challenging times, you want to be sure to keep your family safe. That is one of the reasons I appreciate Lily Martin Care. When my father suddenly went from 100% independence to needing live-in care in a matter of weeks, it was comforting to have someone with Ann Genovesi and Stephanie Chapman's compassion and knowledge. They genuinely care about the patients they are helping and are careful to recommend aides that will be a good fit. We were in need of a live-in aide and it has been 9 months since we have had live-in care, and we couldn't be happier. We followed up on the recommendations that were provided to us and that way we knew we could trust someone to live with our parents. An especially nice aspect is that Ann is a Registered Nurse, so when I have questions about medical care I can discuss it with a knowledgeable person. They are two of the kindest people I have ever met, and their warmth is appreciated when putting people at ease, especially if they are entering a new reality. Thank you Lily Martin Care for allowing our parents to age in place in their beloved home.
